This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Take ownership and enhance the payment operations function.
• Evaluate the existing payment infrastructure and establish a forward-looking multi-PSP strategy.
• Discover and assess new PSPs, acquirers, and payment collaborators.
• Spearhead commercial negotiations, onboarding processes, contracting, and escalation procedures.
• Create a robust multi-provider framework that mitigates concentration and operational risks.
• Design and execute payment orchestration, routing, cascading, and failover mechanisms.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, product, engineering, and operations teams during PSP integrations.
• Develop structured performance reviews and manage relationships with PSPs.
• Monitor payment performance across various PSPs, products, countries, and transaction categories.
• Analyze metrics such as authorization rates, decline rates and reasons, renewal sequences, payment failures, recovery rates, dispute ratios, and fraud metrics.
• Define strategies for retrying, cascading, routing, and managing dunning.
• Enhance recovery from failed payments and minimize involuntary churn.
• Create or request reports, dashboards, alerts, and monitoring protocols.
• Investigate changes in performance and coordinate corrective measures with internal teams and external partners.
• Establish and manage operational frameworks for disputes, refunds, chargebacks, and fraud monitoring.
• Define responsibilities, workflows, escalation pathways, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with PSP risk programs and relevant card-scheme standards.
• Report to an administrative manager while working collaboratively with the CEO, CFO, founders, product, engineering, legal, and operations teams.
• Develop payment flows, performance metrics, risk assessments, reporting, PSP onboarding, and incident-management processes during the initial six months.
• A minimum of five years of pertinent experience in payment operations, payment performance, acquiring, or subscription billing.
• Direct experience with multiple PSPs, such as Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Checkout.com, or similar providers.
• Proven track record in evaluating and onboarding PSPs, as well as managing multi-provider payment configurations.
• Experience in constructing or operating payment orchestration, routing, and cascading systems.
• Strong experience with recurring subscriptions, renewals, retries, dunning, and reducing involuntary churn.
• Experience managing payment volumes exceeding $12 million.
• In-depth knowledge of payment metrics, including authorization rates, reasons for declines, recovery rates, dispute ratios, and fraud metrics.
• Comprehensive understanding of refunds, disputes, chargebacks, fraud monitoring, and card-scheme regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to convert payment data into actionable insights and priorities.
• Experience in developing reporting, dashboards, and operational monitoring systems from scratch.
• Confidence in engaging directly with senior executives, technical teams, legal partners, and external payment providers.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills in English.
• Experience in high-volume, international subscription businesses, consumer applications, digital products, SaaS, streaming, or similar recurring-revenue sectors is particularly relevant.
