Payment Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough transaction analysis by aligning Looker data with bank statements from merchants and payment service providers (PSPs).

• Identify and rectify discrepancies among sales systems, payment processor statements, and accounting records.

• Classify and map transactions, including sales, refunds, chargebacks, and fees.

• Examine timing differences and settlement trends to enhance process accuracy.

• Create and document standardized reconciliation procedures and mapping protocols for various PSP statement formats.

• Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure data categorization alignment and improve data quality.

• Consistently produce variance analysis reports and document the root causes of discrepancies along with clear resolution strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Have 2-4 years of practical experience in financial analysis, data reconciliation, or payment operations.

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of payment processors, merchant accounts, or practices within the fintech industry (preferred).

• Have a background in financial reporting, accounting principles, and variance analysis.

• Demonstrate high proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas) and familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Looker (strongly preferred).

• SQL querying skills for data extraction from databases are optional but advantageous.

• Understand payment processing systems and the formats of merchant statements.

• Exhibit strong analytical skills with a sharp attention to detail, capable of pinpointing root causes of data discrepancies.

• Show exceptional communication abilities to clearly convey findings to cross-functional teams.

• Be self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple reconciliation projects under tight deadlines.

• Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.

• Knowledge of industry regulations, chargeback processes, and familiarity with multiple PSP platforms and statement formats.
