This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Oversee all elements of designated payer contracts and manage payer relationships.
• Assist in the negotiation and management of contract language.
• Conduct research and negotiate payment rates and methodologies.
• Address contract disputes and handle escalated contract issues.
• Maintain deep knowledge of contract and amendment language, rates, methodologies, and associated providers/facilities.
• Ensure compliance with standards in contract practices, documentation, payment rates, methodologies, storage, and issues.
• Act as a representative for Payer Contracting and Intermountain Health in significant relationships.
• Lead Joint Operating Committees.
• Build and sustain long-term relationships with aligned payers.
• Collaborate with Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership on risk-based contracting and proactive care strategies.
• Work with Legal and Compliance to ensure contract accuracy, regulatory adherence, and consistency in language.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Payer Contracting Managers.
• Proven experience in leading and supporting intricate negotiations.
• Background in a professional setting requiring effective communication of advanced topics both verbally and in writing.
• Capability to distill extensive data into clear, concise summaries without losing essential details.
• Experience in leading teams, including cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability in mentoring teams and caregivers.
• Preferred: established experience in payer contracting, encompassing full-cycle negotiation and contract redlining.
• Willingness to travel frequently for contract negotiations with payers.
• Regular computer usage and manual dexterity for typing and accessing information.
• May be necessary to operate a vehicle.
