This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Investigate and gain insights into mental health benefits
• Reach out to patients to provide cost estimate information and guide them on financial options
• Verify eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements for in-network and out-of-network services via phone systems, payer portals, or fax
• Determine patient financial responsibilities, including co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses
• Understand the authorization and referral requirements for scheduled mental health appointments
• Update demographic information and inform patients of their financial responsibilities prior to appointments
• Collaborate with Front Office, Billing, Intake teams, and patients to address insurance-related issues and inquiries
• Correct any errors made by the Patient Financial Clearance Representative within the practice management system
• Re-verify eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and provider network status when existing patients change their insurance plans
• Contact patients regarding insurance and demographic concerns
• Problem-solve and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Communicate professionally and promptly with patients and other teams
• Anticipate and respond to patient needs effectively
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership
• Call Center experience is highly preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service-related field, insurance verification, or general healthcare, with a solid understanding of insurance benefits
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with patients and staff
• Ability to accurately follow oral instructions and work independently, as well as collaboratively within a changing environment
• Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities to completion, and make informed decisions based on situational needs
• Proficient in reading and comprehending documents, including training manuals in English
• Skilled in clear and distinct verbal communication, utilizing appropriate vocabulary and grammar, and maintaining courteous and tactful telephone manners
• Ability to work autonomously and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
• Competence in employing independent decision-making techniques while performing various job functions
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion of work
• Willingness to learn new responsibilities and adapt to frequently changing procedures
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• Must reside in TX, NC, SC, or FL
