This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +3 more states.
• Engage with the rare disease community, including patient advocacy organizations, to gain insights into the rare experience and integrate these learnings throughout PTC.
• Collaborate with internal PTC teams to identify, educate, and foster relationships with individuals living with rare diseases, their caregivers, and Patient Advocacy Organizations.
• Provide communities with resources aimed at alleviating access barriers and securing coverage for marketed products when appropriate.
• Establish and nurture patient advocacy and community relationships related to marketed product disease states and products under development, in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Work across departments with medical, communications, commercial, legal, and compliance teams to adhere to country-specific guidelines, standards, and regulations.
• Connect families to Patient Advocacy Organizations and other resources.
• Develop, plan, and implement educational programs for individuals living with rare diseases and their caregivers.
• Support Patient Advocacy Organizations through shared goals in education and programming.
• Collaborate with the rare disease community to advocate for access to care and therapies.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, advocacy, medical, or a related field.
• Experience in supporting individuals with rare diseases, their caregivers, and advocacy organizations.
• An empathetic and compassionate individual who can relate to the challenges faced by rare families.
• Understanding of the healthcare, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology sectors.
• Adherence to all compliance standards and confidentiality protocols.
• Proven leadership experience working within cross-functional teams.
• A track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Zoom.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to function independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment with both internal and external members.
• An analytical thinker with strong critical thinking abilities and adaptability to shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Capacity to input data quickly, confidentially, and accurately into CRM systems.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 75%, including overnight stays, weekends, and evening commitments as needed; potential for international travel as required.
