This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serving as the main point of contact to facilitate communication between patients and their healthcare team.
• Receiving, prioritizing, and addressing incoming clinical messages from patients to clinicians, while also relaying messages from clinicians to patients as needed.
• Conducting regular outbound communications to patients to ensure ongoing engagement and maximize their success in the program.
• Offering routine administrative assistance to clinicians.
• Participating in special projects as assigned to enhance our systems and improve care efficiency and effectiveness.
• Aiding in the collection of medical records from primary care or other healthcare providers as necessary.
• Requesting medical records.
• Reviewing medical records uploaded by patients.
• Facilitating Medical Records and Prescriptions, which includes sending lab requisitions.
• Assisting with prior authorization coordination and other tasks related to prescriptions.
• Helping with medication refills and responding to pharmacy inquiries.
• Supporting medical clinicians with pre-visit lab orders.
• Guiding new patients on what to anticipate, both at the beginning and throughout their weight loss journey.
• Addressing general inquiries about the program.
• Assisting patients with account modifications or cancellation requests.
• Providing feedback and conveying patient insights to other company teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Marketing) for the enhancement of operational tools and patient care.
• Aiding in the collection of clinical data as necessary to monitor key clinical performance indicators or for quality improvement initiatives.
• Offering scheduling and appointment support for patients.
• Assisting with general inquiries related to insurance and billing.
• Providing updates regarding insurance coverage.
• Addressing billing issues and coordinating with the billing department.
• Responding to membership change inquiries related to billing.
• Offering information on membership costs.
• Answering questions related to eligibility.
• A Medical Assistant (MA) Certificate is mandatory: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• A minimum of two years of experience in a dynamic primary care, obesity medicine, or endocrinology practice.
• Experience with prescription prior authorization processes is advantageous.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Highly organized with a demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively.
• Proficient computer skills, with expertise in platforms such as Slack and Google Workspace, and the capacity to quickly adjust to evolving, custom-built IT systems.
