Patient Care Advocate – Part Time, Friday & Saturday

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Respond to patient inquiries regarding treatment, logistics, and subsequent steps.

• Address issues related to shipping, refunds, scheduling, and care coordination.

• Monitor patients throughout their healthcare journey and ensure prompt follow-up.

• Verify, document, and report insurance eligibility details.

• Maintain precise EMR documentation while complying with HIPAA and privacy regulations.

• Manage multiple priorities while staying communicative and dependable for patients and team members.

• Provide meticulous follow-through and ensure effective communication closure.

• Offer customer support for Hey Jane’s virtual reproductive and sexual healthcare services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in healthcare (MA, PCA, CNA, or a comparable clinical or patient-facing position).

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in abortion care.

• Ability to work comfortably in both in-clinic and remote settings.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong triage skills and the capability to make informed decisions promptly.

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to provide clear, empathetic guidance to patients.

• Proficient in utilizing online tools and technology to deliver care and interact with patients.

• Comfortable supporting patients with sensitive health matters, such as abortion and birth control.

• Capable of navigating protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies related to patient care and documentation.

• Experience in providing trauma-informed care.

• Ability to prioritize competing tasks, manage time effectively, and communicate proactively with colleagues.

• Proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.

• Previous experience in remote or hybrid work settings is a plus.

• Experience working in a startup or rapidly growing organization is a bonus.
