Patient Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Remain accessible during designated coverage hours for communication with the RMI Global Coordination Centre (GCC).

• Deploy to designated medical facilities to welcome RMI patients within one hour of notification from the GCC, or within other agreed-upon timeframes.

• Collaborate with the GCC to ensure that payment methods are established with receiving medical facilities.

• Act as an intermediary between medical facilities and the GCC when necessary.

• Ensure prompt access to care and address issues in a pragmatic and professional manner.

• Translate from the local dialect to English in both verbal and written forms, relaying information to the GCC.

• Make daily visits to medical facilities during extended inpatient admissions.

• Oversee patient welfare during admissions, ensuring comfort, comprehension of treatment, and reasonable support requests.

• Build relationships with treating physicians and gather current information from the medical team.

• Provide timely written and verbal updates to the GCC regarding patient status and proposed plans.

• Liaise professionally with client management as necessary.

• Utilize local knowledge to arrange additional services as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical healthcare professional in the relevant operational area.

• Bilingual proficiency in the local language and dialect (as applicable to the area of operation), as well as English.

• Experience in patient advocacy in remote or international settings is preferred.

• Previous experience with foreign travel.

• Exceptional communication skills and a professional demeanor.

• Proven self-discipline.

• Ability to integrate into a cross-cultural social environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer and technology literacy is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license for the area of operation is preferred.
