Patient Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Remain accessible during agreed coverage hours for contact by the RMI Global Coordination Centre (GCC).

• Respond to predefined medical facilities to welcome RMI patients within one hour of notification from the GCC, or within other mutually agreed timeframes.

• Collaborate with the GCC to confirm payment methods with the receiving medical facilities.

• Act as a mediator between medical facilities and the GCC when necessary.

• Ensure prompt patient access to care while addressing issues pragmatically and professionally.

• Translate information from the local dialect to English in both verbal and written forms, relaying it to the GCC.

• Make daily visits to medical facilities during extended inpatient stays.

• Oversee patient welfare during medical facility admissions, ensuring comfort, clarity of treatment, and appropriate support.

• Build working relationships with treating physicians to obtain current information from medical teams.

• Provide timely written and verbal updates to the GCC regarding patient status and proposed plans.

• Liaise professionally with client management as necessary.

• Utilize local knowledge to arrange additional services as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical healthcare professional in the operational area.

• Bilingual: proficient in the local language and dialect (as per operational area) and English.

• Experience in patient advocacy in remote/international settings (preferred).

• Experience with foreign travel.

• Excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism.

• Proven self-discipline.

• Ability to adapt within a cross-cultural social environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer and technology literacy (preferred).

• Valid driver’s license for the area of operation (preferred).
