Patient Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Be available during the designated hours of coverage for communication with the RMI Global Coordination Centre (GCC)

• Travel to specified medical facilities to welcome RMI patients within one hour of notification from the GCC, or within other mutually agreed timeframes

• Collaborate with the GCC to ensure that payment methods are established with the receiving medical facilities

• Serve as a liaison between medical facilities and the GCC when necessary

• Facilitate prompt access to care and address issues in a prompt and professional manner

• Translate verbal and written communications from the local dialect to English and convey information to the GCC

• Visit medical facilities daily during extended inpatient stays

• Oversee patient welfare during admission, ensuring that patients feel comfortable, understand their treatment, and receive appropriate support

• Build professional relationships with treating physicians and gather current information from the medical team

• Provide timely verbal and written updates to the GCC regarding patient status and proposed plans

• Interact professionally with client management as needed

• Utilize local knowledge to coordinate additional services as required

• Act as the RMI representative for patients’ operational and pastoral needs

• Assist the GCC with security and the processing of payments to third-party medical facilities

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a medical healthcare professional within the operational area

• Bilingual in the local language and dialect (specific to the area of operation) and English

• Experience in patient advocacy within remote or international settings is preferred

• Previous experience with foreign travel

• Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism

• Proven self-discipline

• Ability to adapt to a cross-cultural social environment

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and general computer and technology proficiency is preferred

• A valid driver’s license for the area of operation is preferred
