Patient Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Be accessible during the designated hours of coverage for communication with the RMI Global Coordination Centre (GCC).

• Travel to specified medical facilities to welcome RMI patients within one hour of notification from the GCC, or within other mutually agreed timelines.

• Collaborate with the GCC to ensure payment arrangements are established with the receiving medical facilities.

• Act as an intermediary between medical facilities and the GCC when necessary.

• Facilitate prompt access to care and address issues in a pragmatic and professional manner.

• Provide both verbal and written translations from the local dialect to English and communicate this to the GCC.

• Visit medical facilities daily during extended inpatient stays.

• Oversee patient welfare during their admission, ensuring comfort, understanding of treatment, and addressing reasonable support requests.

• Build rapport with treating physicians and gather current information from the medical team.

• Deliver timely verbal and written updates to the GCC regarding patient status and suggested plans.

• Interact professionally with client management as needed.

• Utilize local knowledge to coordinate additional services as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a medical healthcare professional in the designated area of operation.

• Bilingual proficiency in the local language and dialect (specific to the area of operation) and English.

• Experience in patient advocacy, particularly in remote or international settings, is preferred.

• Prior experience with foreign travel.

• Exceptional communication skills and a high level of professionalism.

• Proven self-discipline.

• Capability to adapt to a cross-cultural social environment.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and general computer and technology skills is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license for the area of operation is preferred.
