• The Supervisor oversees and leads the Patient Account Representatives, including those working on-site and remotely.
• Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance monitoring of staff, as well as managing all aspects of Accounts Receivable (A/R) Management.
• Attend meetings and promptly respond to all requests, including the completion of accounts assigned to the Supervisory Desk.
• Identify performance gaps and opportunities, implementing appropriate action plans.
• Foster a work environment that encourages communication, enhancing morale, engagement, and development of team members.
• Manage the day-to-day supervision and leadership of Patient Account Representatives, focusing on Performance Management metrics such as collections, productivity, quality, and aging.
• Conduct interviews and make recommendations and decisions regarding hiring.
• Perform monthly quality evaluations.
• Monitor staff scheduling and ensure adherence to time and attendance policies.
• Oversee all aspects of A/R Management, ensuring workload balance, maximizing efficiency, reducing rework, and minimizing costs.
• Quickly identify issues and formulate action plans for mitigation or resolution.
• Train, develop, motivate, and support team members in enhancing their skills, knowledge, and attitude.
• Review and respond promptly to inquiries, including emails, phone calls, issues, account research, and resolutions as required by staff, management, and clients.
• Maintain effective communication and interaction with subordinates, management, and clients.
• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• 4-7 years of experience preferred.
• Advanced understanding of UB-04, EOB interpretation, CPT, and ICD-9 codes.
• Supervisory experience or proven leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient technical skills, including knowledge of PC and MS Office Suite.
• Capable of building a cohesive team to achieve performance objectives.
• Effectively manages multiple responsibilities.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and reasoning skills.
• Exhibits creative and innovative thinking.
• Delivers results with accuracy and precision.
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare A/R.
• Strong understanding of Patient Financial Services operations, particularly in Inpatient and Outpatient Managed Care and Commercial payors (e.g., Medicare regulations and compliance; HIPAA).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Advanced writing abilities.
• Capable of providing exceptional customer service.
• Skilled in training and coaching staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and organizational capabilities.
