Patient Access Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide education to prescriber office personnel regarding the Prolastin Direct program and its processes through both in-person and virtual engagements.

• Oversee the utilization of patient support services and reimbursement programs while ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

• Act as the subject matter expert on reimbursement and access within the designated geography.

• Work in partnership with the payor team to comprehend payer policies and enhance patient access.

• Inform providers about prior authorization requirements, appeals processes, clinical criteria, electronic PA submissions, Letters of Medical Necessity, appeals, step edits, formulary exception requests, and documentation needs.

• Promote awareness and understanding of patient support services and specialty pharmacy procedures.

• Tackle patient-specific challenges and deliver resolutions throughout the geography.

• Collaborate with Hub/SP account management teams to address customer-related concerns.

• Cultivate strong professional relationships with customers in targeted accounts to navigate market access challenges.


⛳️ Requirements

• A BA/BS degree is required; an advanced degree or PharmD is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in rare disease, specialty pharmacy, pharma, and/or biopharmaceutical sectors.

• 1–2 years of experience engaging with field-based customers.

• Demonstrated ability to forge strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

• In-depth knowledge of medication access channels.

• Strong functional understanding of specialty pharmacy, health insurance, and benefits.

• Expertise in insurance eligibility benefit verification, prior authorization processes, reimbursement coverage, appealing insurance denials, financial assistance, co-pay support, and free product programs.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.

• Willingness to travel and cover extensive multistate geographic territories; over 50% travel is required.

• Must reside near a major airport in one of the specified states.
