Dispatcher/Router Combo

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage with WM drivers to aid in problem resolution while they are on their routes.

• Manage incoming service orders and provide direction to drivers.

• Address and resolve service-related issues.

• Collaborate with WM customer service, sales, and operational teams.

• Utilize WM proprietary software for managing same-day ticket routing.

• Prepare all routes for the upcoming day.

• Dispatch drivers to calls based on customer requirements, driver locations, load capacities, and daily considerations.

• Optimize routes in coordination with sites and the service department.

• Assess daily driver staffing requirements.

• Allocate routes and service tickets to the appropriate drivers.

• Oversee route actions and ensure the completion of routes.

• Manage incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales departments.

• Coordinate pickup or delivery requests for container movements within the market area.

• Initiate communication with customers while drivers are on-site to address service delays.

• Identify and resolve potential delivery and pickup challenges.

• Guarantee same-day service on missed pickups by effectively managing routing and tracking driver movements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

• Minimum of 6 months relevant work experience.

• Proven experience in a team-oriented environment.

• Strong communication skills across various departments.

• Capability to multitask in a dynamic work setting.

• Exceptional organizational abilities.

• Prior experience in dispatch, routing, or route optimization is essential.

• Preferred strong communication and computer proficiency.

• Flexibility to work shifts that may include overtime and Saturday hours.

• Some travel, up to 15%, may be necessary.
