This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Formulating and implementing a B2B go-to-market business development strategy, enhancing key account practices, managing valuable partnerships, and collaborating with leading universities to assist them in diversifying and expanding their international student enrollment.
• Engaging in multi-level business development, focusing on establishing trust and connections with the board and decision-making units of premier institutions, leading to multi-year collaborations.
• Collaborating across functions with Marketing and Sales to bridge global strategies with local execution. You will also spearhead commercial negotiations and performance reporting, embedding consistent systems and standards.
• Providing advice and support to both new and existing clients – fostering and maintaining current partnerships while ensuring our clients are satisfied with their performance.
• Representing Studyportals at significant conferences and events.
• Participating in the optimization of the entire commercial cycle: from lead generation and negotiation sales to campaign implementation, reporting, and evaluation.
• Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President for the APAC region.
• A commercially driven leader with over 10 years of extensive experience in business development or sales leadership within a large, matrixed organization - preferably in higher education, EdTech, or related sectors such as government. Proven track record in managing strategic partnerships and navigating change while consistently achieving commercial targets is essential.
• Proficiency in an Asian language/s and English (C1), both written and spoken, is mandatory.
• Experience with CRM systems, such as Microsoft, is preferred, along with a background in solution sales, regional market growth, or account strategy.
• A robust network of key decision-makers (c-Suite, Directors, Government) within the higher education sector.
• Client and market share-oriented; dedicated to creating long-term client value.
• Assertive and optimistic. Energetic and persistent, with an entrepreneurial mindset, driving for results and fully committed to success.
• A collaborative team player – independent yet supportive – thriving in an entrepreneurial environment.
• A desire to learn and grow with a dynamic company, with aspirations for rapid advancement in role and responsibilities.
• Candidates must possess the right to live and work in Asia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
