This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Manage a portfolio of partnerships with leading financial institutions, overseeing the entire partnership lifecycle from initial outreach to significant growth on Financial Connections.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of the open banking ecosystem to guide internal cross-functional teams (including product, risk, compliance, engineering, and security) through a dynamic business and regulatory environment, implementing strategic partnership approaches that enhance Stripe's connectivity within the financial ecosystem.
• Identify and thoroughly analyze potential partnership opportunities, ultimately presenting recommendations to relevant decision-makers and cross-functional teams.
• Negotiate strategic partnership contracts with banks and credit unions, effectively navigating intricate legal, compliance, and technical requirements.
• Cultivate and sustain executive-level relationships at major financial institutions, collaborating with Stripe leadership on long-term strategic goals.
• Demonstrate an operationally focused mindset, capable of leading teams through complex relationship management tasks by establishing a clear vision and maintaining rigorous processes.
• Over 5 years of experience in partnerships, business development, corporate development, or a related field.
• Proven experience in negotiating commercial agreements with financial institutions, including bilateral data access or API contracts.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various functions, including at executive levels.
• Strong technical acumen, particularly the ability to grasp product strategy and leverage this understanding to define requirements for scaling products through partnerships.
• Demonstrated experience in formulating partnership strategies and identifying, sourcing, and analyzing new partnership opportunities.
• High level of agency, capable of managing ambiguity in a fast-paced organization, thriving on autonomy and responsibility.
