Part-Time Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Honduras.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete medical billing cycle for a behavioral health/group therapy practice.

• Confirm patient insurance eligibility and benefits.

• Assist with and follow up on prior authorization requirements and requests.

• Accurately prepare and submit insurance claims in a timely manner.

• Monitor the status of claims and follow up on any unpaid or delayed claims.

• Review and address claim denials, rejections, and billing issues.

• Prepare and submit appeals when necessary.

• Process and review Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs).

• Track payments from patients and insurance and ensure accurate posting.

• Conduct regular billing and payment reconciliations.

• Identify outstanding balances and follow up as required.

• Maintain precise billing records and documentation.

• Communicate with practice staff regarding billing issues, claim concerns, and outstanding items.

• Assist in ensuring that billing workflows are accurate, organized, and up-to-date.

⛳️ Requirements

• A robust background in U.S. medical billing is essential.

• Experience in billing for behavioral health, mental health, therapy, or similar healthcare practices is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in managing the end-to-end medical billing process.

• Familiarity with insurance verification, claims submission, denials, appeals, payment posting, ERAs, and reconciliations.

• Strong knowledge of the U.S. healthcare insurance and billing systems.

• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Capability to work independently and manage billing tasks with minimal supervision.

• Reliable availability during Central Time business hours.
