Behavioral Medical Biller – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Generate and submit insurance claims for completed therapy sessions, ensuring each claim is accurate.

• Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits, which includes checking copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and limits on behavioral health visits.

• Monitor claim status and follow up on any unpaid claims with BCBS PPO, Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare.

• Analyze denials and rejections, submit amended claims, and prepare appeals as necessary.

• Record insurance payments from ERAs and EOBs, and reconcile client balances accordingly.

• Keep track of required payer authorizations.

• Prepare superbills for out-of-network clients upon request.

• Maintain documentation of claim activities and payer communications in the system.

• Safeguard patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in U.S. healthcare insurance.

• Practical experience in claim submission, payment posting, and insurance follow-up.

• Knowledge of both commercial insurance and government health plans.

• Familiarity with payer portals and insurance websites.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-up capabilities.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple patient accounts.

• Reliable internet connection and an appropriate remote workspace.

• Must be available during Central Time business hours.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting mental health, behavioral health, or therapy practices.

• Preferred: Familiarity with PracticeQ (IntakeQ).

• Preferred: Knowledge of Illinois insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.

• Preferred: Understanding of psychotherapy CPT codes and behavioral health benefit regulations.
