Part-time Learning Experience Designer

📋 Description

• Develops innovative and captivating online courses by utilizing contemporary online teaching and learning methodologies.

• Collaborates with subject matter experts to design and create courses at undergraduate, graduate, and professional development levels.

• Provides expertise on aligning competencies, assessments, and learning objects to enhance the learning experience.

• Works alongside team members to manage project processes, resources, project documentation, and related materials.

• Conducts needs assessments and initial analyses as part of collaboration with NU Faculty and Course Authors (CA).

• Ensures curriculum alignment with assessments and online content.

• Integrates teaching and learning best practices into the development of online materials.

• Creates original content and revises existing materials in conjunction with CAs.

• Incorporates digital media into the Learning Management System (LMS).

• Maintains and refreshes course-related content.

• Provides consultation on designing effective assessments and evaluation strategies.

• Designs and recommends custom multimedia activities and other interactive course elements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Innovation, or a similar field is highly preferred.

• Three to four years of experience in developing courses within corporate, educational, or freelance settings, or equivalent experience in education-related fields such as instruction, curriculum development, research and assessment, training, project management, and online pedagogy is required.

• One to four years of experience with at least one of the following eLearning development tools: Online course creation within hosting platforms such as Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, or training and development tools like Articulate Storyline or Rise, Kaltura, Videoscribe, and Piktochart.

• A minimum of two years of experience in higher education in instruction, leadership, curriculum development, research and assessment, and online pedagogy is strongly preferred.

• Project management certification or proof of at least six (6) months of project management training is a plus.
