Part-Time High School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized high school science course material in a virtual setting

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey

• Tailor learning experiences and customize instruction based on student proficiency

• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous educational opportunities

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments

• Build positive relationships with families and engage with students and parents/learning coaches

• Assist parents/learning coaches with curriculum, instructional support, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Collaborate with fellow educators to analyze student data and inform instructional strategies

• Travel up to 20% for professional development, student assessments, and school obligations

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• Active state teaching license

• Relevant state Department of Education High School (6-12) Science Teaching Certification

• Ability to pass the necessary background check

• Capacity to work independently

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions

• Willingness to work instructional hours between 9–5 EST or 8–4, depending on school requirements

• Capability to collaborate with other educators and leverage student data for instructional decisions

• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers

• Ability to adapt to change and ensure optimal student outcomes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and knowledge of K12 systems, programs, and curriculum

• Residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C.
