Part-Time Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Assess documentation received from carriers and factoring companies to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Validate Proofs of Delivery (PODs), Bills of Lading (BOLs), lumper receipts, detention charges, and other supplementary documentation.

• Cross-reference carrier documentation with load information in Descartes Aljex to confirm precision.

• Verify load numbers, pickup and delivery specifics, rates, and relevant supporting documents.

• Process carrier invoices via Accounts Payable.

• Generate and issue precise customer invoices through Accounts Receivable.

• Investigate and resolve inconsistencies between freight documentation and system records.

• Reach out to carriers, factoring companies, customers, and internal departments to acquire missing documentation or clarify billing-related concerns.

• Follow up on unbilled loads by securing missing PODs and any necessary documents.

• Address inquiries related to invoice status, payment status, and payment due dates.

• Maintain orderly billing records and supporting documentation.

• Assist with additional billing and administrative tasks as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in billing, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation is preferred.

• Familiarity with Descartes Aljex or another Transportation Management System (TMS) is a plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong level of accuracy.

• Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Capability to identify discrepancies, investigate problems, and follow up effectively.

• Comfortable engaging with carriers, factoring companies, customers, and internal teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, email applications, and general office software.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
