This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee, implement, and troubleshoot billing applications with an emphasis on NextGen EPM software.
• Import and rectify daily interface files from hospital systems while handling data entry for any failed files.
• Upload and manage electronic claim files, insurance verifications, and ERA reports.
• Examine and resolve failed claims within the clearinghouse, aligning payers with electronic payer numbers.
• Supervise the outsourcing of daily self-pay encounter billing, bad debt files, and reconciliation reporting.
• Retrieve payment files from credit card vendors and generate reports for batching into eBridge.
• Resolve or escalate tickets while ensuring effective communication with both internal teams and external clients.
• Assist in QA testing, auditing, and the development of electronic billing applications.
• Monitor dashboards and reporting trends, alerting the Billing Applications Manager to any issues.
• Serve as a backup for team members and the manager when necessary.
• 2–3 years of experience with practice management software and Excel (required).
• Familiarity with NextGen EPM, Availity, or Epic (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving abilities for medical software applications.
• Knowledge of healthcare privacy regulations (HIPAA) and HL7 interfaces.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities.
• Keen attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
