Paralegal – Insurance Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee litigation files from their initiation to resolution, encompassing trial, arbitration, and mediation preparations.

• Draft, review, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and various litigation documents for attorney assessment and approval.

• Prepare and manage written discovery tasks, including drafting discovery requests and responses, and coordinating document production.

• Review, organize, summarize, and maintain medical records, billing records, and other documentation pertinent to the case.

• Support attorneys in assessing injury-related claims through thorough review and analysis of medical records and supporting documents.

• Coordinate and communicate with clients, medical providers, expert witnesses, vendors, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.

• Schedule and arrange depositions, independent medical examinations, expert witness activities, and other litigation-related events.

• Prepare exhibits, case summaries, witness files, and other materials for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

• Manage electronic filing and service of legal documents in accordance with relevant court rules and procedures.

• Monitor case deadlines, court requirements, and litigation calendars to ensure timely and compliant case management.

• Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys on insurance defense matters, including bodily injury and third-party liability claims.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, ideally in insurance defense, bodily injury, or civil litigation.

• Preferred experience in supporting litigation related to bodily injury and/or third-party liability claims.

• Solid understanding of legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, court filings, and trial preparation.

• Strong familiarity with Pennsylvania litigation practices and electronic court filing systems is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in drafting discovery responses, requests, and motion-related documents.

• Background in reviewing and summarizing medical records and supporting injury-related claims evaluations.

• Experience in coordinating clients, vendors, medical providers, and expert witnesses throughout the litigation process.

• Ability to manage high-volume caseloads in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines effectively.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Must fulfill all relevant paralegal certification, registration, or licensure requirements as stipulated by Pennsylvania state.

• Candidate must undergo a background investigation.

• Must have a dedicated, distraction-free workspace with appropriate desk and seating.
