This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the key contact for claims and litigation issues, including MPL medical defense, claims, and legal proceedings.

• Receive, assess, direct, and reply to Service of Process documents.

• Perform initial case intake by collecting facts, documents, and pertinent information.

• Create preliminary summaries of new cases for attorney evaluation and assignment.

• Maintain the corporate litigation tracker and ensure electronic files and supporting documents are current.

• Track and update litigation calendars and deadlines.

• Collaborate with outside counsel, assist with discovery responses, and monitor MPL litigation milestones.

• Work with the Director of Insurance to inform carriers of new claims and litigation while providing updates on matters.

• Follow up with outside counsel for status updates and keep the internal legal team informed of evolving risks.

• Partner with attorneys, carriers, and clinical leadership to collect MPL data for trend analysis and enterprise risk management.

• Meet regularly with business units to evaluate the claims pipeline and report findings to the Deputy General Counsel.

• Draft and review legal documents.

• Ensure the confidentiality and security of legal files.

• Provide administrative assistance, support special projects, and perform other designated tasks.


⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of litigation procedures and legal principles.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare-related litigation processes.

• Understanding of the handling of sensitive patient information and HIPAA compliance.

• Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to manage confidential information with reliability.

• Proficiency in artificial intelligence, Microsoft Office Suite, and litigation support software.

• Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.

• Four years of experience as a paralegal in a corporate or legal setting.

• Preferred experience in litigation, claims management, and regulatory compliance, especially in healthcare.

• Preferred paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
