Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Process invoices from NEF vendors pertaining to corporate entity maintenance and compliance.

• Handle legal invoices from external counsel, including the preparation and submission of payment requests.

• Collaborate with NEF accounting departments and external counsel billing teams.

• Oversee legal document deliverables for multifamily affordable housing real estate development equity investment and loan closings.

• Manage legal document deliverables for multifamily affordable housing real estate investment fund closings.

• Prepare internal funding disbursement requests for equity investments and loan closures, as well as post-closing disbursements.

• Work alongside project management, asset management, and investor relations teams on both pre-closing and post-closing issues.

• Assist in the formation of corporations and limited liability companies.

• Monitor NEF legal entity compliance, formation, dissolution, and filings.

• Aid with filings for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, LLCI filings, Know Your Customer filings, local municipality economic disclosure statement filings, and similar requirements.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in a corporate law department or law firm setting.

• Paralegal Certificate.

• A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in real estate finance, general commercial real estate matters, or commercial finance transactions.

• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with NEF legal staff, management, and personnel from other departments.

• Capability to interact effectively with investors, developers, vendors, and other external parties.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Proficient communication, writing, and organizational abilities.

• Capacity to maintain a professional demeanor in a dynamic work environment.
