This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Organizes and evaluates documentary evidence, including contracts, reports, depositions, discovery materials, investigative documents, and summaries.
• Interprets and prepares chronologies and summaries as requested, utilizing accurate figures and adhering to applicable laws and firm guidelines.
• Analyzes bankruptcy filings and provides prompt legal assistance to the handling attorney regarding the status of each bankruptcy proceeding.
• Under the direction of an attorney, drafts and prepares correspondence and other written documents as necessary, including responses, reports, filings, pleadings, answers, motions, discovery responses, contracts, opinions, position papers, letters, and additional documents as required.
• Prepares and manages the tracking and disposition of subpoenas or other information requests.
• Ensures the organization of files through effective maintenance and management practices.
• Monitors files and escalates issues that require attorney involvement.
• Conducts legal research using online resources for expert background searches and case investigations.
• Requests fee approvals, prepares hearing and trial binders, and gathers all necessary documents from clients to prepare for trials while meeting billing objectives.
• Maintains a calendar for trial and discovery deadlines.
• Secures trial settings, coordinates activities, and assists in preparation.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience within a law firm and/or corporate legal department.
• Prior experience in foreclosures, creditors' rights, and the Uniform Commercial Code is essential.
• Strong background in foreclosure processes and a solid understanding of bankruptcy law.
• Familiarity with client interface systems such as Blacknight / ICE (LPS), Tempo/Sagent, etc., for document uploads and tracking contested files.
• Demonstrated knowledge of legal research and deposition motion practices and procedures is required.
• Experience with State and Federal Court filings, including E-Filing and e-filing with bankruptcy courts.
• Title Company and/or real estate closing experience is advantageous.
• Understanding of time billing practices is necessary.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel (intermediate to advanced), PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with knowledge and application of legal research tools (Westlaw).
• Critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision are required.
