Paralegal, Corporate Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare and modify commercial contracts, including NDAs, customer contracts, and other revenue-generating agreements such as credit agreements, program agreements, referral agreements, technology services agreements, service level agreements, and non-disclosure agreements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all WEX policies and risk frameworks.

• Assess customer-requested amendments to contracts, collaborating with Corporate Payments attorneys and relevant stakeholders for input and approvals, and updating documents as necessary.

• Support attorneys in the preparation, review, and execution of various transaction documents, forms, and filings related to the Corporate Payments sector in the Americas.

• Aid in transitioning legacy contracts to the company’s new contract lifecycle management system (Malbek).

• Manage the contract process from intake through workflow routing and version control to execution and post-signing activities via our contract lifecycle management system, which includes gathering relevant information, creating and redlining contracts, routing documents for internal review and approvals, obtaining signatures, and updating contract records as necessary.

• Oversee legal matter workflow, including managing the legal request queue for matter intake in the workload/matter management system (Xakia), interacting with internal stakeholders, and handling administrative tasks related to completing matters for the Corporate Payments legal team.

• Work collaboratively with other support functions, including Finance, Compliance, and Risk.

• Contribute to strategic projects as needed.

• Apply exceptional written and verbal communication skills, exercising sound judgment and independent decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• A paralegal degree or certification, or a bachelor's degree in Finance or Business.

• Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited paralegal program, along with a B.A. or B.S. degree, or a Juris Doctorate.

• A minimum of 5 years of paralegal or equivalent experience with commercial contracts and transactional matters, which includes drafting and generating agreements, redlining, and reviewing contract revisions and comments.

• Strongly preferred experience with legal technologies, particularly matter management and contract lifecycle management systems.

• Highly preferred familiarity with all aspects of contract lifecycle management.

• Previous experience working in-house to support a line of business on the customer side.

• Proven ability to learn IT applications and systems.

• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills to effectively manage a substantial workload independently while being accountable for deliverables.

• Capability to function as a team player in a fast-paced environment.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong analytical skills with an acute attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign.
