Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive legal research, encompassing case law, statutes, and regulations, and distill findings into actionable solutions for case files.

• Compose pleadings, petitions, and various legal documents to prepare for hearings and litigation.

• Assess and evaluate medical-legal reports to aid in case preparation.

• Review and condense medical records to enhance case development.

• Draft Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) letters and other pertinent documentation.

• Summarize deposition transcripts and integrate findings into case strategy.

• Maintain a high level of expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Acquire and master case management software to facilitate daily operations.

• Conduct searches and maneuver through the EAMS system to assist in case management and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• An ABA Approved Paralegal Certification is mandatory.

• A minimum of three years of experience in workers' compensation claim litigation is required.

• Preferred in-depth knowledge of California Workers' Compensation laws.

• Demonstrated ability to research and interpret case law, statutes, and regulations to develop practical solutions for legal issues.

• Strong organizational, reasoning, and time management skills with the capability to effectively prioritize tasks.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear communication with diverse audiences.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Familiarity with EAMS and case management software is highly preferred.
