This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +1 more state.
• Oversee PaintCare operations in a designated region.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by building relationships and regularly reaching out to participating paint retail stores, local government partners, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction with the PaintCare program.
• Identify and recruit potential paint drop-off sites.
• Clarify the process of becoming a PaintCare drop-off site and assess the suitability for partnership with PaintCare.
• Manage the onboarding process for new paint drop-off sites, which includes contracting, on-site training, and coordinating paint collection and transportation services.
• Organize and facilitate PaintCare-hosted collection and paint giveaway events.
• Handle large volume pick-up requests from painting contractors, businesses, and other organizations.
• Order signage and other point-of-sale materials as required.
• Personally deliver point-of-sale and outreach materials to both potential and current drop-off sites.
• Monitor the utilization of these materials by the sites.
• Serve as a prominent resource in the region, connecting the public with paint reuse and recycling opportunities.
• Present to both small and large audiences (e.g., home shows, conferences, trade associations).
• Attend local, state, and national stakeholder meetings and conferences.
• Provide local insights and knowledge to our internal communications team to enhance regional community engagement initiatives.
• Maintain a database of drop-off site information and generate reports as necessary.
• Review and approve invoices related to program operations.
• Report directly to the program manager.
• Familiarity with and/or knowledge of product stewardship programs, laws, and organizations.
• Understanding of hazardous waste programs, services, and proper handling.
• Knowledge of paint products and their applications.
• Comfort in engaging with paint users, especially trade painters, contractors, paint retailers, and property managers.
• Experience with retail operations and communications across various formats, including big box, chain, franchise, co-op, and independent stores.
• Proficient in public speaking, training, and delivering presentations.
• Capability to receive and store bulk orders of point-of-sale materials, conference supplies, booth kits, and other outreach materials for distribution to sites or for use at conferences and events.
• Proficient in computer use and standard office software.
• A valid state driver’s license is required.
