Paint Technician, Automotive

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Foster relationships with management teams, procurement teams, and paint technicians at client locations.

• Maintain essential communication with sales and management teams.

• Offer technical guidance and support to customers regarding product lines.

• Address inquiries and concerns related to product lines and overall operations.

• Diagnose and resolve painting challenges associated with product, application, inventory, and the general painting process.

• Assist customers in resolving line issues.

• Collect data and material samples for analysis, testing, and reporting purposes.

• Aid in managing daily paint consumption, invoices, inventory, and paint orders.

• Gather viscosity, temperature, appearance, Wave Scan, and film build data.

• Analyze the collected data and regularly communicate results internally and to customers when necessary.

• Alert relevant parties when data deviates from expected ranges.

• Contribute to monthly plant quality reports and suggest specifications and quality ranges.

• Assist with customer demand forecasting, onsite inventory management, and product ordering.

• Support customer projects (LWRs) and testing requests; collaborate with chemists and relay results to customers as needed.

• Build relationships at all organizational levels to help the team provide value.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is required.

• Additional education or a college degree in an Engineering or Technical field is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in paint application and/or manufacturing is essential.

• Familiarity with the automotive coatings industry is advantageous.

• Extra experience with automotive painting equipment is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of technical principles and practices (lab, research, etc.) is necessary.

• General understanding of chemical handling and Process Safety Management (PSM) is required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple projects.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% is necessary.

• Local presence in the Toronto, CAN area is required.
