PaaS Infrastructure Engineering Consultant – Cloud Automation, Tools

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee database assets within cloud environments.

• Utilize enterprise automation and monitoring tools effectively.

• Tailor cloud systems to meet performance, maintenance, and security needs.

• Configure automation for infrastructure-as-code provisioning of Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and other related PaaS databases.

• Establish automation standards.

• Set best practices for PaaS database automation.

• Collaborate with database Subject Matter Experts to define database automation standards and provision environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience in Information Technology, or a Technical Certification and/or College Courses combined with 7 years of IT experience, or 9 years of IT experience.

• Proficient in Azure SQL databases and Azure SQL Managed Instances.

• Experience in automation with Ansible and Harness.

• Familiarity with As-a-Service technologies.

• Background in Cloud Orchestration and Management technologies.

• Experience with Monitoring and Event Management technologies.

• Knowledge of Automation technologies.

• Operations Management experience.

• Familiarity with ITIL v3.

• Understanding of IT standards, procedures, and policies.

• Awareness of business priorities, industry trends, and market dynamics.

• Note: Sponsorship is not available, including for candidates currently on OPT.

• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related fields.

• Preferred programming experience in C#, Java, Python, or another language.

• Preferred familiarity with Azure networking and security.
