Network Firewall Services Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain Fortinet security solutions, including FortiGate (FGT), FortiManager (FMG), and FortiAnalyzer (FAZ).

• Oversee firewall policies, NAT configurations, VPN services, and security profiles within enterprise environments.

• Discover innovative solutions to address security challenges and improve platform performance through modern security tools.

• Provide operational support for incidents and service requests related to firewall and network security.

• Participate in Infrastructure as Code and automation projects for firewall provisioning, policy management, and compliance controls.

• Raise awareness of security best practices, design patterns, and automation capabilities throughout the bank.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure secure and resilient service delivery.

• Assist with security audits, vulnerability remediation efforts, and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.

• Conduct reviews of security policies, optimize rule bases, and manage the lifecycle of firewalls.

• Work alongside product owners to develop roadmaps and manage the lifecycle of network security services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in network security engineering, firewall administration, and automation scripting using Python, Ansible, or Shell scripting.

• Strong grasp of network security principles, firewall architectures, and enterprise operational processes.

• Practical experience in administering and supporting FortiGate firewalls within large enterprise settings.

• Experience with FortiManager for centralized policy administration, device management, and configuration compliance.

• Familiarity with FortiAnalyzer for logging, reporting, security analytics, and operational troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of Fortinet Security Fabric architecture and integrated security solutions.

• Experience in configuring and supporting IPSEC VPNs, SSL VPNs, SD-WAN, and dynamic routing protocols like BGP and OSPF.

• Understanding of Agile methodologies and associated toolsets.

• Capability to create the vision and roadmap for security platforms and services.

• Experience in implementing security policies, intrusion prevention, web filtering, application control, and threat protection services.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and load balancing concepts.

• Experience with firewall automation, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes.

• Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and security analytics tools.

• Understanding of cloud networking and security principles across AWS and hybrid cloud environments.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting, analysis, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication.

• Relevant Fortinet certifications such as NSE 4, NSE 5, NSE 7, FCSS, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
