2nd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Deliver Level 2 assistance for incidents and service requests related to infrastructure.

• Identify and resolve issues within Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.

• Oversee and sustain essential infrastructure services, including backups, patch management, and endpoint security solutions.

• Examine networking challenges involving DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.

• Refer intricate technical problems to senior engineers or third-party vendors as necessary.

• Keep precise technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles updated.

• Aid in hardware deployments, upgrades, and regular maintenance of infrastructure.

• Work in conjunction with the Service Desk and broader IT teams to ensure prompt resolution of tickets and incidents.

• Contribute to ongoing projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and implementing technology upgrades.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a Level 2 Support, Infrastructure Support, or a comparable technical role.

• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.

• Solid understanding of networking basics, including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.

• Proficient in supporting both physical and virtual infrastructure environments.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Valid UK Driving Licence.

• Desirable: experience with backup technologies such as Veeam.

• Desirable: familiarity with endpoint security and monitoring platforms.

• Desirable: knowledge of VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization technologies.

• Desirable: experience with Cisco Meraki networking solutions.

• Desirable: relevant industry certifications, including Microsoft Certifications, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Server+.
