Over the Phone Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver real-time telephonic interpretation between Bambara and English for USCIS officers, applicants, and other stakeholders.

• Provide precise, neutral, and professional interpretations in the fields of immigration, asylum, and legal matters.

• Comply with USCIS/DHS standards regarding interpreter ethics and confidentiality.

• Manage both scheduled interpretation assignments and urgent or surge requests.

• Engage in training sessions, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess native or near-native proficiency in both Bambara and English.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of professional interpreting experience, with a preference for backgrounds in immigration, asylum, community, NGO, or government settings.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.

• Exhibit excellent communication abilities and maintain accuracy under pressure.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
