French (Canada) Sports Localization Specialist – Football

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Review, localize, fact-check, translate, and modify football-related and sports content for target audiences.

• Follow writing style guides and localization standards diligently.

• Perform research specific to the market on local content, product terminology trends, and best practices in localization.

• Provide constructive feedback on written materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BA degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in the linguistic field, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing.

• In-depth knowledge of sports, particularly football.

• Proven experience in the translation and localization of multimedia content, with a preference for those familiar with machine translations and evaluations.

• Native-level proficiency in the target language.

• Exceptional grammar and writing capabilities in the native language.

• Strong skills in creative writing, proofreading, and editing in the native language.

• Solid understanding of computers and mobile devices, including word processors and spreadsheets.

• Possession of a licensed version of MS Office applications.

• Ability to work autonomously and remotely.

• Assessment to evaluate grammar proficiency and subject matter expertise.

• Previous publications on platforms like ESPN, The Athletic, or FourFourTwo are an advantage.

• Experience with sports media platforms, live score applications, or sports streaming services is a plus.

• Capability to adjust voice and style for Gen Z, football fan culture, and pop culture audiences is a bonus.
