This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Conduct physical inspections to evaluate vehicle damage resulting from accidents, weather disturbances, and other covered incidents.
• Perform virtual or in-person assessments at body shops and customer sites.
• Analyze estimates and work closely with repair facilities to guarantee the accuracy and quality of claims.
• Generate repair estimates utilizing industry-standard estimating software.
• Ascertain costs for parts, labor, and materials necessary for vehicle restoration.
• Assess and settle total-loss vehicles by determining actual cash value through market analysis and valuation tools.
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with body shops, clients, and third-party claimants.
• Detect and log pre-existing damage, previous repairs, and potential fraud indicators.
• Work in partnership with claim representatives, body shops, and vendors to coordinate repairs and resolve any issues.
• Clarify the appraisal process, respond to inquiries, and keep vehicle owners updated.
• Adapt to emerging technologies, system enhancements, and AI-related digital tools.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Active adjuster license, as applicable.
• A minimum of two years' experience in auto physical damage appraisal.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with enterprise technology systems and platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong judgment and effective decision-making skills.
• Outstanding customer service capabilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proven conflict resolution skills.
• Capability to manage stress and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
• Basic knowledge of insurance principles, terminology, state insurance regulations, and claim handling requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of auto physical damage appraisal or similar claim-related experience, or successful completion of the necessary Travelers Claim Representative training program.
• Valid driver's license.
