This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver coding services for CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM across a range of 1–4 specialties.
• Execute coding for Professional Fee, Facility, or HCC.
• Provide coding support for clients.
• Code surgical procedures common in an ER environment to optimize revenue capture when applicable.
• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the utmost specificity.
• Accurately implement ICD-10-CM, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Interpret coding guidelines to ensure precise code allocation.
• Evaluate the significance of documentation on code assignment and its effect on reimbursement.
• Adhere to AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• Follow internal policies and procedures diligently.
• Engage in training and educational opportunities provided by the company.
• Maintain at least one credential from AAPC or AHIMA.
• Ensure adherence to privacy and security regulations while safeguarding confidential information, including Personal Health Information.
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by leadership.
• Must possess certification from either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
• Minimum of 6 months of relevant on-the-job experience.
• Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance.
• Familiarity with EMR and billing systems.
• Availability of a phone, dependable internet connection, and current CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references.
• Maintain an ongoing productivity and accuracy rate of 95% or above.
• Achieve and uphold a quality score of 95% or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Capable of effective and professional communication both verbally and in writing.
• Able to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines.
• Capacity to work independently from home.
• Ability to operate at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day.
• Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
