This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Creates comprehensive construction and installation drawings, focusing on the design of fiber cable fields and splicing sequences in accordance with Network Planning.
• Calculates estimates for labor and materials costs, along with design loss assessments.
• Engages in mapping and drafting using CAD and traditional methods, while researching and updating International Construction Measurement Standards (ICMS) records, necessary permits, and ISP designs.
• Oversees and monitors OSP work schedules to ensure they align with project specifications and timelines: conducts cost studies, performs estimates, and provides updates on project progress as well as budget forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
• Coordinates with city officials to manage the permitting process and ensure adherence to regulations.
• Collaborates with customers on land acquisitions for easements.
• Offers real-time guidance to team members to adhere to project timelines and contractual commitments.
• Communicates and escalates any contractual, technical, or scheduling issues that may jeopardize customer satisfaction or project timelines.
• Reviews all permits, rights of way, easements, and negotiations necessary for the successful completion of projects.
• Monitors and follows up on all challenges and actions faced by colleagues and vendors.
• Incorporates innovative solutions into design and engineering methodologies.
• Works with Sales as needed to create customized design solutions for prospective clients.
• Supervises and directs design-permitting vendors, ensuring their work meets business goals and project criteria.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned, including cross-departmental projects.
• A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in OSP Engineering, Construction, or Operations.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Must be proactive, self-reliant, and a team player - demonstrates initiative to remain focused and goal-oriented.
• Essential experience in the fiber and telecommunications industry, with a thorough understanding of industry standards, technologies, and processes critical for success in this role.
