This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Oversee the comprehensive engineering of intricate outside plant programs—from initial routing and feasibility assessments to permit approvals, construction initiation, and project closure.
• Determine the technical direction for fiber and copper installations, including aerial and underground systems (pole line, direct-buried, and conduit setups).
• Ensure that designs adhere to NESC and client specifications while maintaining cost and schedule integrity.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Facilitate coordination across various functions.
• Enhance quality through stringent QA/QC processes, field validations, and data-driven enhancements.
• Extensive experience in OSP Engineering: Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, multidisciplinary OSP projects (from design to permit, construction readiness, and closure).
• Mastery in Design: Proficient in work order engineering (including road relocations), loss budgets, splicing plans, constructability assessments, and value engineering.
• Knowledge of Field & Standards: Practical field measurement experience; comprehensive understanding of NESC and client/industry OSP standards.
• Expertise in Permitting/ROW/Joint Use: Proven success in securing permits and ROW/easements; leading pole attachment, loading, and make-ready coordination activities.
• Financial & QA Expertise: Experience in developing and tracking project budgets and conducting structured QA/QC and site inspections.
• Proficiency in Tools & Systems: Skilled in PC applications and record/CAD systems; adept with measuring wheels, height sticks, pull finders, and laptops in the field.
• Background in mentoring and leading engineering teams and vendors; establishes technical best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Familiar with drafting, markup, and documentation tools (e.g., CAD platforms and markup utilities), as well as client portals.
• Excellent communication skills—capable of conveying technical constraints into clear guidance for stakeholders.
