Opto-Mechanical Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Executes all standard aspects of the functional area subject matter.

• Innovates new solutions to challenges faced.

• Organizes, plans, and carries out tasks that require decision-making.

• Offers technical advice to designers and junior engineers.

• Accountable for the design and modeling of mechanical components that interface with optical elements.

• Create comprehensive drawings for optical components and the entire optical system.

• Assist in trade studies and propose system architecture and design strategies.

• Perform analysis and evaluation of design concepts to generate realistic assessments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 7 years of related experience.

• Specialized knowledge in the mechanical design of mounts and modeling of opto-mechanical systems.

• Proficient in CAD software (Solid Works, NX).

• Capable of managing all phases of opto-mechanical subsystems.

• Experience in developing assembly and testing procedures.

• Must be able to lead the creation of design concepts.

• Previous experience with NASA or related work involving space flight hardware.
