This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Offer specialized knowledge to support statistical analyses related to Air Force accession conditions and long-term outcomes, including readiness, retention, and duty performance.
• Conduct statistical analyses of existing datasets and create new datasets utilizing SAS Enterprise Guide.
• Define, design, manage, and oversee analytical projects, including timelines, milestones, and progress reporting.
• Create stratification methodologies based on ICD codes and other pertinent criteria.
• Develop and maintain statistical models to evaluate relationships between variables within Air Force health data.
• Validate and verify statistical models while assisting with troubleshooting and enhancements.
• Prepare technical communications and analytical documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as the health statistics authority in interdisciplinary planning and analysis initiatives.
• Secure and sustain necessary data access permissions.
• Utilize Air Force medical record systems, standards, and relevant data repositories.
• Collect, integrate, map, and manage data from various databases.
• Establish data architecture requirements and maintain detailed data dictionaries.
• Assist in scientific conferences by preparing posters, presentations, manuscripts, and publication activities.
• Present study outcomes at meetings, briefings, and government forums.
• Provide technical assistance using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL, and Adobe products.
• Conduct data creation and administration to support model development, analysis, and publication efforts.
• Document programming code and analytical outputs in line with USAFSAM programming standards.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer activities through customer briefings and technical documentation.
• Offer technical oversight for methodologies, analyses, and reports that assist Air Force leadership decisions on accession waiver policies and their effects on force readiness, retention, and health.
• Master's or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Operations Research.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
• Current HIPAA training with the capability to access and process identified medical data.
• Extensive knowledge of statistical analysis, study design, and study execution.
• Advanced proficiency in SAS / SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS EG).
• At least 10 years of experience applying statistics in a healthcare or military setting.
• Ability to provide a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before the commencement of work.
• Over 5 years of analytical experience in the medical field or military environment is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in utilizing Air Force medical record systems, standards, and relevant data repositories.
• Experience providing technical support with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL, and Adobe products.
• Capability to document programming code and analytical outputs in compliance with USAFSAM programming standards.
