This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Advocate for and implement safety awareness through the Positive Safety Culture safety model.
• Train and guide all employees in completing necessary paperwork and meeting associated deadlines.
• Mentor drivers on incidents captured via DriveCam technology.
• Oversee the safety performance of the region and branches by strictly following all safety policies and protocols.
• Responsible for providing information and images related to any PTI accidents to the Safety and Risk departments.
• Organize safety meetings as needed and motivate staff to participate in the local safety committee.
• Conduct driver evaluations, including ride-along road tests, both initially, annually, and as required.
• Assist in the recruitment, selection, training, and retention of a high-quality driver workforce.
• Facilitate pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol testing.
• Maintain staffing levels aligned with business objectives to fulfill customer needs.
• Oversee the OTR and DYV schedules.
• Utilize provided staffing tools and cultivate relationships within the local community.
• Provide supervision and coaching to all employees.
• Manage and oversee branch expenditures; monitor and regulate expenses.
• Properly train and supervise all employees regarding operational technology, equipment, and compliance with paperwork requirements.
• Be prepared to travel as directed by your Supervisor.
• Ensure all trips and tasks are executed accurately, promptly, and professionally.
• Conduct coaching, disciplinary actions, and/or employment separation processes as necessary.
• Coordinate with the Dispatch department to guarantee all trips are adequately covered.
• Communicate with the Payroll Department regarding any staff-related issues that arise.
• Monitor and assess driver performance through direct observations and the use of available technology.
• Ensure all drivers are scheduled and operate within their Hours of Service (HOS).
• Collaborate effectively with the Driver Support Center (DSC).
• Ensure all vehicles are maintained according to Fleet Department instructions.
• Conduct vehicle compliance inspections as needed.
• Adhere to the vehicle maintenance and repair policies established by the Fleet Department.
• Track the status and availability of all out-of-service “OOS” and “available” vehicles, including rental vehicles when necessary.
• Update vehicle counts as required by the Fleet Department or the Director of Operations.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with all PTI software tools such as DriveCam, Trimble, and Crew.
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license corresponding to the state of employment.
• A minimum of 5 years of verifiable driving experience.
• Must reside within 30 minutes of the branch location.
• Capability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to utilize a GPS/Technology System and understand roadmaps.
• Must maintain a cell phone and keep PTI informed of the current phone number.
• Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds.
• Must be able to climb in and out of the vehicle.
• Must be capable of bending to inspect the undercarriage of vehicles and tires.
• Must be able to manually open and close all vehicle doors and hatches.
• Ability to remain seated for extended periods while driving, as required.
