This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct sophisticated statistical and quantitative analyses of healthcare, operational, claims, encounter, membership, and enterprise data.
• Create statistical models and algorithms to detect anomalies, patterns, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Utilize regression, hypothesis testing, forecasting, segmentation, outlier detection, trend analysis, and other quantitative techniques.
• Build and sustain analytical solutions utilizing SQL, Python, R, Power BI, and other approved tools.
• Act as the analytical owner or subject matter expert for designated operational domains.
• Design dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and analytical products to convert complex information into actionable business insights.
• Automate recurring analytical tasks, regulatory metrics, operational KPIs, and data validation processes.
• Examine complex datasets to identify relationships, trends, data-quality issues, and areas for improvement.
• Conduct data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and quality analysis.
• Develop and maintain data models, analytical datasets, data definitions, and source-to-target mapping documentation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytical questions, methodologies, success metrics, and business recommendations.
• Work alongside IT, Enterprise Analytics, developers, data engineers, consultants, and technical resources.
• Support enterprise data warehouse solutions, including Microsoft Azure Synapse.
• Create analytical solutions for Grievances & Appeals, Encounters, Risk Adjustment, Claims, Membership, and related functions.
• Assess claims and encounter patterns and anomalies that suggest operational issues, payment variations, data-quality concerns, or opportunities for investigation.
• Evaluate operational performance, identify statistically significant variations, and assess operational interventions.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis for new models, measures, and decision-support tools.
• Document methodologies, assumptions, limitations, data sources, and outcomes.
• Present intricate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide guidance and technical support to Data Analyst I staff and members of the Operations Analytics team.
• Engage in cross-functional projects and enterprise initiatives.
• Recommend enhancements to analytical capabilities and ensure solutions align with business and regulatory requirements.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent qualifying experience.
• Over 5 years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, business intelligence, or related analytical roles.
• Alternatively, more than 9 years of progressively responsible experience in related analytical work in lieu of a degree.
• Proficient in complex SQL queries and relational databases.
• Experience with reports, dashboards, or analytical solutions using Power BI or another data visualization platform.
• Knowledge of statistical methods applied to business or operational challenges.
• Advanced skills in SQL/T-SQL.
• Proficient in advanced Microsoft Office applications.
• Capability to apply quantitative and statistical methods to intricate business issues.
• Ability to select suitable analytical methodologies and assess statistical outcomes.
• Proficient in communicating complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Skilled in documenting analytical methods, findings, assumptions, and recommendations.
