This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee, mentor, and manage the performance and professional growth of the Operations Business Analyst team.
• Direct and coordinate the Operations Business Analyst role that aids various operational areas.
• Set standards and best practices for gathering requirements, documenting business needs, mapping processes, conducting testing, providing implementation support, and validating outcomes post-implementation.
• Allocate and prioritize resources for Business Analysts based on the organization's priorities, project intricacies, operational risks, and overall capacity.
• Ensure that Business Analysts acquire expertise in operational domains and act as intermediaries among Operations, Information Technology, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Evaluate business requirements, process documentation, workflows, test plans, and deliverables from analysts to ensure quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to uncover business requirements, process deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.
• Convert strategic and operational goals into practical initiatives.
• Facilitate discussions across functions to address intricate requirements, competing demands, and challenges in implementation.
• Supervise analysis of current and future processes, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and increased efficiency.
• Assist in project planning, prioritization, execution, and evaluation after implementation.
• Team up with Data Analysts and Operations Analytics leadership to define analytical requirements, KPIs, and reporting necessities.
• Work in conjunction with Information Technology to transform business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Track project progress, dependencies, risks, and issues, escalating problems as necessary.
• Ensure support for user acceptance testing, readiness for implementation, and validation of solutions.
• Monitor the workload of Business Analysts, project statuses, deliverables, and outcomes.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and sharing of knowledge.
• Enhance team capabilities through mentoring, training, succession planning, and providing professional development opportunities.
• Compile and deliver project updates, recommendations, risks, and findings to leadership and stakeholders.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis, process enhancement, healthcare operations, project management, or related fields.
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• Proven experience in gathering and documenting complex business requirements and converting business needs into actionable solutions.
• Experience collaborating with technical and operational stakeholders on system implementations or process improvement projects.
• At least 2 years of experience leading projects, teams, or employees is preferred.
• Experience in managed care or healthcare operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with Medi-Cal/Medicaid managed care is preferred.
• Experience in leading or supervising Business Analysts is preferred.
• Experience in supporting enterprise system implementations and operational transformation projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of managed care operational functions is preferred.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies is preferred.
• Experience in creating business requirements documents, process maps, workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria is preferred.
• Experience with operational process improvements and automation initiatives is preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio or similar process-mapping tools is required.
• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent work management tools is preferred.
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts is preferred.
• Experience with enterprise healthcare systems and business applications is preferred.
• CBAP, PMI-PBA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification is preferred.
