Oncology Field Medical Director, Thoracic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement medical strategies and engagement initiatives for designated customers within the Southeast Territory (FL / PR).

• Stay informed about relevant therapeutic areas, disease conditions, and Pfizer's pharmaceutical products.

• Supply therapeutic area and product knowledge to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Act as a resource for Medical Information and gather insights from customers.

• Provide approved medical and scientific education to healthcare professionals.

• Identify and engage key customer segments.

• Address unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals with accurate, truthful, and scientifically backed information.

• Facilitate advisory boards with oversight from management and collaborate with vendors as needed.

• Manage inbound queries from healthcare professionals through established triage methods.

• Identify potential sites and assist in Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, particularly those serving underrepresented patient populations.

• Offer medical support during the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Develop research and therapeutic-area knowledge through congress data and disease-state publications.

• Provide leadership in asset management.

• Clarify study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation to clients.

• Guide the territory through strategic planning, prioritization, and responsibility for medical outcomes.

• Collaborate with local Patient Advocacy Groups alongside Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs.

• Share field insights regarding patient organizations, patient requirements, treatment trends, standards of care, and unmet data gaps.

• Participate in cross-functional committees related to medical, therapeutic areas, and asset management.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs at clinical and professional associations and societies.

• Mentor onboarding partners, advisory board leaders, and study coordinators.

• Engage in special projects as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a health science is required.

• A PharmD, PhD, or an equivalent terminal doctoral degree is highly preferred.

• Relevant experience is necessary: PharmD/PhD with 6 years of experience, MBA/MSc with 8 years, or BA/BSc with 10 years.

• Recognized subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholders.

• A wide range of diverse leadership experiences and skills.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

• Capability to manage a high volume of projects in a remote setting, prioritize effectively, implement successfully, and exercise sound judgment.

• Proficiency in working within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to lead and navigate change in a dynamic healthcare landscape.

• Agility in adapting to organizational changes.

• Strong problem-solving and enterprise networking skills.

• Clinical and technical expertise.

• Competence in quickly utilizing digital technology and resources for medical interactions and documenting them.

• Capability to operate a Pfizer company vehicle and regularly travel by air.

• Willingness to travel 60–80% of the time.

• Must reside within reasonable proximity to an airline hub city.

• Availability to work weekends.

• Current residency in the FL / PR territory is required.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is mandatory; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.
