Oncology Data Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review disease indices, pathology reports, radiology reports, and additional clinical documents to pinpoint reportable cancer cases for identification.

• Conduct primary data abstraction for oncology measures and registries.

• Ensure exceptional abstraction accuracy and consistency with organizational quality standards.

• Maintain comprehensive long-term follow-up data collection and input for all cancer registry patients.

• Gather data for National Cancer Database special studies as necessary.

• Comply with the requirements of the Oncology Abstraction Training Program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Oncology Data Specialist certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) to be obtained within 36 months (3 years) of the hire or job transfer date is mandatory.

• Preference for registrars with a specialization in Tumors.

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience.

• Currently enrolled in or have successfully completed a NCRA-Accredited Certificate Program.

• An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree.

• A total of 4 years of relevant cumulative job-specific experience.

• Adherence to all oncology regulatory standards is required.

• Compliance with the Oncology Abstraction Training Program requirements.
