Onboarding Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the customer onboarding process from the initial document request to the activation of the account.

• Conduct KYC/KYB assessments on business entities, including corporate structure, beneficial ownership, and source of funds.

• Implement onboarding requirements across various jurisdictions, each with distinct documentation and regulatory guidelines.

• Ensure that each account meets the necessary partner requirements.

• Act as the first line of defense by utilizing risk-based judgment instead of merely following a checklist.

• Escalate high-risk cases with a well-defined recommendation rather than simply flagging them.

• Collaborate with external partners on onboarding issues, from routine account inquiries to specific case exceptions.

• Serve as the main contact during the onboarding process, guiding customers through our requirements and their significance.

• Quickly resolve documentation issues, providing customers with clear written instructions that require no follow-up calls.

• Collaborate with the sales team and broader business units to facilitate account progression without compromising standards.

• Identify friction points: which steps cause delays, which documents face rejection, and where customers disengage.

• Suggest controls, process enhancements, and automation possibilities to the product team.

• Transform your manual tasks into automated processes handled by the product.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in KYC/KYB, onboarding, or a frontline compliance role.

• A working knowledge of customer due diligence requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

• Practical experience in verifying business entities and beneficial ownership (UBO).

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; this is essential, as it comprises a significant part of the role.

• Ability to manage a high volume of cases with competing priorities without overlooking details.

• Self-sufficient and low-ego, capable of working fully remotely without supervision or micromanagement.
