Onboarding Engineer – Presales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Conduct customer proof of concept studies

• Act as a subject matter expert on Starburst products and services

• Provide consulting on architecture, deployment, and design discussions

• Collaborate with Professional Services on post-sales deployments and onboarding

• Serve as a customer-facing technical resource during technology evaluations

• Offer product feedback for internal engineering discussions

• Design and implement strategic team projects and initiatives

• Work together with Engineering and Support on critical customer operational issues and inquiries

• Create field best practices and how-to documentation

• Contribute to the internal knowledge repository

• Troubleshoot customer deployments and ensure successful completion of technical campaigns

• Assist customers in transitioning from legacy platforms to production

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency or experience in one or more of the following: analytical and problem-solving skills, ANSI SQL, UNIX/Linux CLI interactions, data warehouse concepts, private/public cloud deployments, Hadoop, distributed systems, and storage

• Expertise with Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, AKS, GKE, and OpenShift

• Experience in customer-facing technical positions

• Previous experience with Trino or Presto is a plus

• Strong communication skills with the ability to respond dynamically to real-time inquiries

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
