Offshore Crane Operator – Trainee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Operate the auxiliary vessel cranes aboard a Heavy Lifting Vessel (HLV).

• Train to handle the vessel crane in line with relevant regulations, load capacity tables, weather conditions, motion limits, and project-specific lifting plans and method statements.

• Ensure a safe working environment on deck and uphold high standards of housekeeping.

• Conduct daily maintenance and regular inspections of cranes, crane wires, and cargo gear, ensuring all equipment is properly certified and logged.

• Execute crane operations safely and professionally by adhering to operational manuals, lifting procedures, and safety regulations.

• Train in proper slinging techniques, safe stowage, and appropriate crane signaling, including safe practices for blind lifting.

• Engage in mooring operations and assist with additional tasks as directed by the Chief Officer.

• Perform maintenance work following the Planned Maintenance System and seek technical assistance through the Chief Engineer when necessary.

• Contribute to safety and compliance by adhering to legislation, the VMS Manual, and Unit Specific Procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have prior experience as a Crane Operator on offshore vessels or possess similar experience with Cable Crane operations on land.

• Ideally, you hold a valid Crane Operator Certificate Stage 2.

• You exhibit a strong awareness of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

• You possess a hands-on, proactive, and safety-minded approach.

• You communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
