Occupational Therapist – Full Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional, direct occupational therapy services to assigned students as per the student's mandated IEP and service objectives.

• Perform screenings along with formal and informal assessments of all students' occupational therapy requirements utilizing best documented practices.

• Possess expertise in state-specific policies and procedures for the execution of Occupational Therapy services.

• Draft evaluation reports, progress notes, and individualized education plans.

• Record all student interactions within the EMS platform, including detailed therapy notes compliant with Medicaid guidelines.

• Participate as an IEP team member by attending meetings and submitting necessary paperwork to ensure adherence to federal, state, and school regulations.

• Maintain regular communication with parents/learning coaches of students requiring occupational therapy, as well as with school special education personnel, to guarantee that IEP goals are met and needs are addressed promptly and appropriately.

• Collaborate with teachers and coordinate the execution of specially designed instruction as outlined in the IEP for students with occupational therapy needs and potential learning challenges.

• Assist, when required, with the organization and proper execution of all paperwork, documentation, and procedures related to the IEP process for designated students.

• Keep accurate and current data in the company’s Education Management System and special education software, including updates to secondary IEP systems as instructed.

• Foster a positive working relationship between the OT team and the schools and programs we support.

• Review and evaluate various reports to ensure compliance.

• Acquire and maintain all necessary licenses and clearances as designated.

• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE accredited institution.

• NBCOT Certification.

• Valid Board and/or Department of Education License for Occupational Therapy in both your state of residence and the state where you will be assigned.

• Capability to obtain and maintain multiple required state certifications and clearances as assigned.

• Over 2 years of experience in a K-12 school environment.

• Proficient technology skills.

• High level of flexibility and ability to work independently.

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Flexibility in working hours (must be during school hours – from 8 am to 8 pm), which may vary based on caseload assignments and student locations.

• Conduct evaluations using an approved list of evidence-based, norm-referenced assessments.
